Delaware license plate project documents low tag numbers

August 25, 2019

For 12 years, Jordan Irazabal has been working to photodocument the 3,000 lowest active Delaware license plate numbers. Now he has only 100 tag numbers left to find.

Irazabal is seeking to find all Delaware tag numbers 1-1000, C1-C1000, and PC1-PC1000, a task he says is proving to be quite difficult in this final stage.

“Many of these tags are on vehicles that get very little time on the road,” said Irazabal. “Carfax has helped enormously, but it can only provide so much information. The thing that will help me find the final 100 is networking. It’s not a secret that Delaware is a small state where everyone knows everyone. Another challenge is that Delaware allows special tags such as vanity, volunteer firefighter, Ducks Unlimited, etc., which can be displayed in lieu of the number tag, giving the driver the option of displaying either the number tag or the cover/special tag. If you can help me with any of the missing tags, please email me! Everything is 100 percent anonymous; I simply want an up-close photo of the tag.”
