Delaware Small Business Award ceremony set May 9 in Wilmington

The U.S. Small Business Administration’s Delaware Office announced SBA’s 2019 Delaware Small Business Award winners.

SBA Delaware District Director John Fleming will officially present the winners with their awards at SBA’s annual Delaware Small Business Awards Dinner Thursday, May 9, at DuPont Country Club, Wilmington.

Sussex County winners include Patricia Rivera, director of Hook PR & Marketing, Milton. She will receive the Minority-Owned Business of the Year Award. Financial Services Champion will go to Linda Price, Fulton Bank, Georgetown. Veteran-Owned Business of the Year will go to Cindy Collins of Euphoric Herbals, Milford. 

Small Business Person of the Year is Donald Chupp of Fireside Partners Inc., Dover.

The Entrepreneurial Success Award will go to Frank Montisano, Excel Business Systems, Newark. Woman-Owned Business of the Year will go to Christina Stanberry, Beyond Fifty Fitness Center, Wilmington and Hockessin. The Lifetime Achievement Award will go to Judy Diogo, Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce, Dover. The Frank H. Masley Champion Award will go to Michael Bowman, Delaware Small Business Development Center, Newark.

Top Delaware SBA 7(a) Program Lender for number of loans will be awarded to M&T Bank. Top Delaware SBA 7(a) Program Lender for dollar amount will go to WSFS Bank. Top Delaware 504 Program Lender is Delaware Community Development Corporation. Tied for Top Delaware 504 Program Third Party Lenders are Fulton Bank and M&T Bank.

Mid-Atlantic Region SBDC of the Year is Delaware SBDC.
