Delaware Tech podcasting students learn from media leader

Students in the podcasting class of Delaware Technical Community College’s Communications program recently welcomed “Coach” Mike Fabber as a guest speaker.

“The theme of the class was turning passions into professions, so I thought Fabber would be a great person to share this with our students,” said instructor Keith White. 

Fabber is a broadcaster, achievement coach, author, and motivational speaker/presenter who has coached sports for more than 15 years and private clients for more than five years. He works with individuals and businesses to help them achieve their specific goals, and leads speaking engagements for schools/colleges, businesses, and community outreach centers. In addition, Fabber runs a nonprofit organization, owns a food truck and a landscaping company, and hosts a morning sports talk show and weekly webcast.

Fabber recently wrapped up a stint with the popular “Morning Rant” online sports talk show, and he currently hosts the “Unleash You” podcast. He also recently published a book titled “Your Story.” 

“[He] really drove home the idea of making a podcast with personality and passion, presenting an authentic topic to reach an audience,” White said. “His message included the principles we strive to teach students with regard to grit, perseverance, and never giving up. Coach drew upon his experiences, and included setbacks and pitfalls in his life, which was really refreshing. The talk was entertaining and engaging, and we will have him back in the future.”
