February 21, 2019

During March, the Delaware Watercolor Society’s Juried Fine Art Exhibition will be on display in the Art League of Ocean City’s Center for the Arts in Ocean City, Md.

The exhibit features 37 water media paintings by members and nonmembers of DWS, ranging from beginners to those at the top of their field.

DWS is a nonprofit organization in Rehoboth Beach and its focus is exploring, creating and sharing the wonders of watercolor and aqueous media with new, emerging and professional artists from Delaware, New Jersey, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Washington, D.C.

Juror Susan Avis-Murphy selected works for the exhibition based on technical skill, composition, use of color and value, and originality. Avis-Murphy is an award-winning artist with a long resume of accomplishments. She is a signature-level member of the American Watercolor Society, Baltimore Watercolor Society, National Watercolor Society and Pennsylvania Watercolor Society with more than 35 years painting, teaching and exhibiting.

The awards ceremony is during the opening reception from 5 to 7 p.m.,  Friday, March 1, at the center at 502 94th St., bayside, Ocean City, Md. Admission is free. The exhibition runs through Sunday, March 31.
