Delaware Watercolor Society exhibit reception set Nov. 16

The Delaware Watercolor Society announced its Juried Competition and Exhibition will be open to the public Tuesday, Nov. 13, at  Painted Stave Distilling in Smyrna. An opening reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 16. The reception is open to the public and all are welcome. The exhibit will remain in place until Friday, Feb. 1.

Alexis Lavine, a talented artist and established workshop leader, acted as juror and judge for this event. Her responsibilities included selecting the paintings to be included in the exhibition and selecting the award-winning paintings.

Painted Stave owners Michael Rasmussen and Ron Gomes were instrumental in helping DWS with the exhibition installation. Painted Stave Distilling is at 106 West Commerce St., Smyrna.

The Delaware Watercolor Society is a nonprofit organization headquartered in Rehoboth Beach. Its primary goals are focused on exploring, creating and sharing the wonders of watercolor and aqueous media with new, emerging and professional artists from Delaware, New Jersey, Maryland, Washington, D.C., Pennsylvania and Virginia.
