September 9, 2021

Winners of the Delaware Watercolor Society juried exhibition The Wonders of Watercolor were announced Aug. 27 during an opening reception at the Rehoboth Art League.

A collection of 58 paintings representing 26 area artists was selected for the exhibit by juror and awards judge Christine Heyse, AWS, NWS.

“The works included in this exhibit show a great range of talent and artists’ devotion to water media,” said Heyse.

After careful review and evaluation of each entry, Heyse made the selection of award winners. Ribbons, monetary awards and certificates were presented to the selected artists by Delaware Watercolor Society President Marjorie Wuestner.

The award-winning artists are Cathy Mercedes Walls, first place for her entry “The Hiker”; Isabel Pizzolato for her entry “Yellow Cactus”; and Gail Zinar for her entry “The Cost of Covid.”

Merit Awards were presented to Brad Hastings for his entry “Can I Help You?” and Winifred Way for her entry “Cast Shadows.”

The society extends its sincere thanks to the Rehoboth Art League for hosting the exhibit, and to the staff and volunteer members who made this possible. The exhibit will be on display at the Corkran Gallery until Sunday, Sept. 26.
