Delmarva Power golf event raises $85K for local scholarships

Delmarva Power continued its support for local community organizations through its 24th annual Delmarva Scholarship Golf Classic, a charity golf tournament held a Heritage Shores in Bridgeville.

This year’s event raised more than $85,000, which will be distributed for scholarships to the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Delaware State University, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, Kingswood Community Center Foundation, Delaware Workforce Development Board Youth Scholarship, Hefron Scholarship Fund and Kids of the National Guard Camp Fund. Delmarva Power has raised nearly $2 million through the event since it first began 24 years ago. This year, 144 players from across the region played in the tournament. 

Delmarva Power is committed to community involvement and being a good corporate citizen for the communities where its employees live and work. In 2017, Delmarva Power contributed more than $1.3 million to local nonprofits, while its employees volunteered nearly 11,300 hours to help hundreds of organizations throughout Delaware and Maryland.
