Dennis Lee Rafferty, DuPont Co. retiree

Dennis Lee Rafferty, 74, of Milton passed away Saturday, Nov. 30, 2019, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes, surrounded by his loving family.  He was born March 7, 1945, in Philipsburg, Pa., son of the late Nicholas and Phyllis (Braund) Rafferty.

Dennis built a career as a facilities engineer for E.I. DuPont de Nemours and Company, retiring after 47 dedicated years.  He was a member of the DuPont Country Club and the DuPont Facilities Services Golf League, as well as an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan, through good times and bad, attending games in the best and worst of weather.  He truly enjoyed the game of golf, and with it, a lifetime of fun and bonding with his sons and friends. Above all, Dennis cherished time spent with those he held most dear. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, son-in-law and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by his sister, Brigadier Gen. Carole Rafferty Mitchell.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Camille (Fiorella) Rafferty of Milton;  his sons:  Craig Rafferty (Carolyn) of Newark and Scott Rafferty of Chester Springs, Pa.; his grandchildren: Ryan and Connor Rafferty of Newark and Jason Rafferty of Chester Springs, Pa.;  his brother,  Nicholas "Bob" Rafferty Jr. (Joann) of Wilmington; his sister, Gloria Manubay (Sancho) of Hockessin; his loyal feline companion, Luna;  and his best friends, Frank Pellegrino, Joe Gilbert and Paul McDonagh.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, Dec. 6, at 11 a.m., at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, 152 Tulip Drive, Lewes, where friends may visit beginning at 10 a.m.  Interment will be private. 

Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.                                             

The Rafferty Family would like to thank all of the doctors and nurses at Beebe Healthcare, as well as the Tunnell Cancer Center, for their professional, competent, and caring manner as they assisted Dennis during his illness. A special thank you to Dr. Jeffrey Cramer for his kind attention to Dennis over the years.
