“DPP’s mission is to help older writers become published authors. We are thrilled that the efforts of our authors have been recognized by the DPA judges in the 2019 competition,” said Dianne Pearce, publisher of Devil’s Party Press. “We’re especially delighted that our first full-length novel, David Dutton’s ‘One of the Madding Crowd,’ has been recognized by the association. It’s a wonderful work, and we are very excited for David.” Both “One of the Madding Crowd” and “Equinox” will advance to the national competition held by the National Federation of Press Women.

Released in October 2018, “One of the Madding Crowd” is Dutton’s first published novel. Dutton is currently at work on a new book. Since its inception, Devil’s Party Press has published five short story collections and two full-length novels. In 2019, the publisher will release three new novels and two short story collections.

The purpose of Delaware Press Association is to promote and uphold the highest ideals and standards of journalism and communications, to encourage the exchange of ideas and experiences, to offer professional development opportunities, to recognize outstanding work, and to coordinate the efforts of the DPA affiliate and the National Federation of Press Women.
