Dewey Beach Lions support Rehoboth Beach fire company

Fire prevention committee shares safety tips
May 25, 2019

Members of the Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company Fire Prevention Committee joined the Dewey Beach Lions Club at the Annual Community Day event May 11. Joining the Lions for the arts and crafts displays, along with information from the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control, Beebe Medical Center, and a variety of other community groups was great fun for the committee on a beautiful Mother’s Day Saturday at the Lions Club park in Dewey Beach.

There was even a visit from the Rehoboth-Dewey Chamber of Commerce mascot Smiley the Dolphin. Committee members enjoyed meeting community residents and visitors to talk about fire safety and encourage families to close bedroom doors before going to bed, practice their fire escape plans, check their smoke detectors, and install home fire sprinkler systems.

To help support the fire company in its efforts to protect the community, the Lions Club presented the committee with a check in the amount of $2,000.
