Dewey election letters won’t appear today

September 11, 2020

It has come to the attention of the Cape Gazette that there is a serious dispute as to whether Commissioner David Moskowitz is eligible for re-election due to residency requirements. (See capegazette.com/node/208119) Therefore we have decided not to publish the 13 endorsement letters submitted that were scheduled for this publication. His residency eligibility won’t be voted upon until Friday afternoon, Sept. 11. If it is deemed he is an eligible candidate, we will print those endorsement letters Friday, Sept. 18, a week before the election. Surely this will not affect the absentee ballots that have probably already been submitted.
