DHA thanks supporters of its mission

December 31, 2019

On behalf of the board of directors, staff, volunteers and the animals in our care, I would like to thank the community for its support of Delaware Humane Association’s mission this past year.

Our storefront Adoption Center in the Midway Center has had a very successful year, as we found homes for 483 homeless kittens, cats, puppies and dogs (of our 2,000 total for DHA, which includes our Wilmington location and several satellite cat adoption centers in North Wilmington).  Since opening the center in July 2017, 702 animals have been adopted through our Rehoboth Center.

We also offered four low-costs vaccination clinics in 2019, serving many animals with the preventative veterinary care they needed.

Through our Wags, Whiskers, and Wine event in June, Designer Handbag Bingo in September, and several other smaller fundraising events, we have engaged the community in our organization, and very much appreciate the support and partnerships we have gained!  We are grateful for the many donations of supplies that individuals, families, and local businesses have brought to us.

Our incredible team of volunteers has embraced DHA in the community, and help us greatly by spending time with our cats, walking dogs, caring for the animals, and participating in fundraising and community awareness events.
DHA looks forward to another prosperous year of “making friends for life” and, as we continue to grow and expand, we are counting on adopters, supporters and volunteers to step forward.

We know that the needs of homeless animals and resources for families and pets in Sussex County are numerous, and we stand ready to help.

Please consider getting involved and/or making a year-end gift to DHA at www.delawarehumane.org/donate

Thank you!

Patrick J. Carroll
executive director, Delaware Humane Association
