Dirty Grass Players to perform at Room at Cedar Grove Jan. 27

January 20, 2022

Paul Cullen will present the Dirty Grass Players at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 27, at the Room at Cedar Grove in Lewes.

The Baltimore-based band performs what’s known as new grass, a modern interpretation of bluegrass music.

“This is a band who likes to push the boundaries,” said Cullen, the former bass player for Bad Company as well as a chef and sommelier. “But they still have strong roots in traditional music. The result is a down-home sound with a great beat and a lot of improvisation – next-level bluegrass. There are elements of the Allman Brothers and Southern rock.”

The four-piece band includes Connor Murray on bass, Alex Berman on banjo, Ben Kolakowski on guitar and Ryan Rogers on mandolin. The group’s latest full-length album is called “Beneath the Woodpile.”

While the band performs, guests will enjoy a multi-course dinner paired with complementary wines. Partial proceeds will benefit Paul Kares, the nonprofit that Cullen and Jim Rivette founded to support aspiring chefs and musicians.

The cost for the evening is $95.
