Dogfish to celebrate off-season with off-centered specials and new head chef

October 9, 2018

Dogfish Head is ramping things up this off-season with an inventive new roster of off-centered specials at Brewings & Eats at 320 Rehoboth Ave. and Chesapeake & Maine at 316 Rehoboth Ave. With featured fare and a plethora of scratch-made cocktails and off-centered ales to pair, there’s something for everyone and a special for just about every night of the week. The festivities will continue through Memorial Day weekend.

The happy hour from 4 to 6 p.m. daily at Chesapeake & Maine offers guests a menu chock-full of delicious drinks and dishes including hand-crafted and keg-conditioned cocktails, and an assortment of scrumptious specialty small plates.

Firkin Mondays will soothe the end-of-the-weekend blues. Brewings & Eats will tap a new, exclusive, cask-conditioned beer every Monday at 5 p.m.

Wood-Fired Nights will begin at 5 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday. Brewings & Eats offers select burgers and pizzas starting at $8 each. Each week, it will also feature a new, anything wood-fired special with dishes from pasta to wings to sandwiches and more.

Delmarva Spotlight and Beer & Benevolence Night will be from 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday. No lineup of off-season specials would be complete without a little bit of live music. A local musician will steal the spotlight at Brewings & Eats every Wednesday, and every other week, 10 percent of the evening’s proceeds will be donated to a local charity.

Fish FryDays will be at 4 p.m. every Friday at Chesapeake & Maine. Guests can enjoy a platter of delicately fried seafood and side dishes for just $15 per person, and $10 for children. Each platter is built to order, with rotating offerings based on seasonality and availability.

Guests can enjoy a selection of classic brunch dishes, each prepared with an off-centered twist, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Sunday at Brewings & Eats. DJ Woody B will take the stage and spin tunes from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Brunch is served a la carte.

Lobster party Sundays mean one claw-some, dine-in-only deal. Chesapeake & Maine will offer 1.25-lb. lobsters for $10 each from 12 to 9 p.m. every Sunday. The deal is available while supplies last.

Dogfish Head has also welcomed a new head chef. Leading the culinary teams at both Brewings & Eats and Chesapeake & Maine, and spearheading the execution of this year’s off-season specials, is head chef Lou Ortiz. This Delaware native turned Denver denizen returned home in July to bring his off-centered, gastronomic vision to Dogfish Head’s restaurants.

“Here at Dogfish, I’m surrounded by a group of talented, innovative and inventive co-workers, and I couldn’t be happier to be a part of this team,” said Ortiz. “As the off-season rolls in, we’re excited to start collaborating on ways to mix up our menu and show off our culinary artisanship, and we think these off-season specials are a great place to start!”
