Dogfish Head and Jolly Trolley team up for shuttle service

August 2, 2018

Dogfish Head and the Jolly Trolley have partnered to offer a shuttle service between Dogfish’s brewery, brewpub and hotel.

The two entities had partnered together for years on transportation to and from Dogfish special events. Lydia Hastings, the Jolly Trolley’s operations director, said last year, Dogfish and Jolly Trolley partnered for a pay-per-seat program from events like Analog A-Go-Go and the Weekend of Compelling Ales and Whatnot. Hastings said that program moved 350 people from the Weekend of Compelling Ales alone. So in March, Dogfish approached Jolly Trolley about a shuttle service. Hastings said it was an easy yes on the Jolly Trolley’s part.

The shuttle service, which started June 23, begins at 10:15 a.m. with a trip from the Rehoboth Beach brewpub to the brewery in Milton. Additional trips from the brewpub to the brewery will run at 11:30 a.m., 1:15 p.m. and 3:20 p.m.

The shuttle will make a single trip from the brewpub to the Dogfish Inn in Lewes at 11:30 a.m. A shuttle from the Dogfish Inn to the brewery will leave at 12 p.m. The final shuttle leaving from the Dogfish Inn will step off at 2:45 p.m. heading toward the brewpub.

Trips from the brewery start at 12:30 p.m., with a shuttle heading to the brewpub in Rehoboth, with two more trips at 2:15 p.m. and 4:10 p.m. From the brewery, riders can go to the Dogfish Inn at 2:15 p.m.

Rides to and from the Milton brewery cost $10, while trips from the brewpub to the Dogfish Inn are $5.

Hastings said the program will go until at least until Saturday, Sept. 8. Dogfish spokeswoman Heather Kenton said the program could be extended into the fall if ridership is good this summer. Hastings said the potential is there to extend service into mid-October, although that will be determined by ridership numbers. She said ridership has grown over the last few weeks as more people are aware of the service and that the Jolly Trolley would definitely like to provide it again next year.
