Dorothy Clark Weller, loved to cook

October 8, 2018

Dorothy Clark Weller, 89, of Millsboro, formerly of Jackson, N.J., passed away at her home in Millsboro Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018.

She was born in Cassville, N.J., to the late George and Elsie Tucker Sloan July 30, 1929. On May 9, 1949, she was married to her husband, George H. Weller, who survives her. She retired from the Jackson Public School System. She was a very active person who always had to be doing something for someone else. She was a feisty woman with endless energy. She rose every day at the “crack of dawn” and went on from there! Her main passion was cooking and collecting recipes.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children: George Weller Jr. and his companion Kate Dostey of Jackson, Helena Weller and her husband Robert Dochney of Phillipsburg, N.J., Sherry Mosley and husband David of Jackson, and Douglas Weller and his wife Leatta of Azle, Texas. Dorothy has 14 brothers and sisters; six grandchildren: Kaitlin Mosley (Tobias Canfield), Lucas Mosley, Samantha Kliemish (Glenn), Wendy Mosley, Candace Mosley and Corinne Dochney (Paul Zippel). She also has two great-grandchildren: Wynn Canfield and August Canfield.

She has several special friends: Mildred Trimmer, Bubbles and Joey Clayton, Ginny and Gary, Joanne and Greenie, and a special niece Judy Wright of Ohio. The family wishes to extend special thanks to Vitas Hospice and Seasons Hospice, and caretakers Malissa, Jessica, Marline, Mimi and Tashanda.

A funeral service will be held in the Chapel of the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery Wednesday, Oct. 10, at 11 a.m. The Rev. Dr. James Van Der Wall will officiate. Interment follows in the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to either the Alzheimer’s Association, or any charity of your choice.
