Dorothy Lorraine Rogers, family meant everything

Dorothy Lorraine Rogers, 80, of Millsboro passed away at home in the loving arms of her husband Richard after 62 years of marriage Sunday, June 28, 2020.  She was born Dec. 6, 1939, in Lewes to the late Thomas and Helen Thomas Pritchett.  She was a devoted wife, and family meant everything to her. She had a passion and gift for decorating their home.  She enjoyed browsing antique shops, and especially loved old lamps.  

In addition to her husband Richard, she is survived by her son Ricky Rogers (Lisa) of Gumboro; her daughters: Rita Rogers (Mitch) of Gumboro and Tammy Hansen (Bill) of Georgetown.  She also is survived by five grandsons: Richard Allan Rogers (Jamey), Lance Rogers, Taylor Rogers, Brent Hansen and Blaine Hansen.  She has one great-granddaughter: Braelynn Rogers.  Dorothy is also survived by a sister: Lorraine Hare (David) of Laurel.

A viewing and visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until noon, Monday, July 6, at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro. Masks and social distancing will be required.  A funeral service and Celebration of Her Life will be held at noon with Pastor Thom Slaughter officiating.  Seating for the funeral service will be limited in compliance with the COVID-19 restrictions in the governor’s sState of emergency, and the division of health guidelines. Interment will be private, with only the immediate family in attendance following the funeral.
