To help fight hunger, Dunkin’ of Greater Philadelphia presented a donation totaling $43,000 to the Food Bank of Delaware Feb. 27.

The donation is a combined effort from Dunkin’s Roast Hunger program and Dunkin’s Joy in Childhood Foundation. It will directly support the food bank’s mission to provide nutritious foods to Delawareans in need and facilitate long-term solutions to the problems of hunger and poverty through community education and advocacy.

The Food Bank of Delaware distributes millions of pounds of products each year to its network of 536 hunger-relief program partners throughout the state and also provides thousands of meals a month for children. FBD provides community outreach including financial literacy coaching through $tand By Me and nutrition education to empower Delawareans. Delaware Food Works, a workforce development initiative of the Food Bank of Delaware, provides training for adults interested in careers in the food service industry, warehousing and logistics, and agriculture.
