Earl R. Robinson, loved to sing

Earl R. Robinson, 83, of Dagsboro went home to be with the Lord Thursday, Aug. 15, 2019.

He was born in Millville April 13, 1936, to the late Frank Clayton Robinson and Pearl (Banks) Robinson.

Earl worked as a grain operator for Cargill and Mountaire in Frankford for 32 years, retiring in 1998.  After his retirement, he started his own business detailing cars at his home.  He was a member of Blackwater Fellowship Church, where he enjoyed singing in the church.  Earl was also a big baseball fan, where he enjoyed watching his Orioles on TV and going bird hunting.  He was also a talented softball pitcher with a great knuckleball, playing on the Blackwater Fellowship Church League, winning the championship in 1981.  Earl will be remembered for his singing voice, his devotion to God and his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Mary C. Robinson, in 2018.  He is survived by his son, Clayton Robinson and his wife Donna of Salisbury, Md.; two grandchildren, Aaron Robinson and his wife Dawn of Georgetown and Stacey Hutson and her husband Tom of Dagsboro; three great-grandchildren, Grace Kennedy Robinson, Rebecca Avery Robinson and Regan Emily Hutson; and a sister, Christine Long of Dagsboro.

A visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 22, at the Frankford Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 43 Thatcher St., Frankford, where the funeral service will begin at 11 a.m.  Interment will follow at Dagsboro Redmen Cemetery in Dagsboro.
