Edward J. Troise, defense contractor

Edward J. Troise, 92, of Lewes, formerly of Dover, died Wednesday, July 29, 2016, at home, with his family by his side. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Pa., he was the son of the late Pasquale and Theresa Troisi.
Mr. Troise proudly served his country during World War II as a member in the U.S. Army Air Corps where he was awarded both the Bronze Star and Silver Star along with the Purple Heart. Mr. Troise, fondly known and remembered as Poppop, started a civil defense contracting company in the 1960s and had completed numerous U.S. Army, Navy, and Air Force contracts, including many at Dover Air Force Base.

He loved his family dearly and was a very sociable person with a wonderful disposition. He led a diverse life and was a hard-working man until the day he passed. Mr. Troise will be dearly missed but never forgotten, as he touched many throughout his lifetime. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Evelyn B. Troise, who passed in 2007. He leaves three sons, Edward J. Jr., Lawrence and Anthon,, and his daughter Evelyn T. Troise-Bove, all of Lewes. Also survived by nine grandchildren, Jeremy E. Troise and his wife Tara of Camden, N.Y., Jerrad D. Troise of Seattle, Wash., Justin A. Troise and his fiance Tracy Powell of Lewes, Eleanor Roberto and her husband Louis of Philadelphia, Aimee E. Troise and her husband Brendan Bieker of Philadelphia, Jacquline N. Troise of Dover, Jheri J. Troise of Dover, and Elissa J. Troise-Greco and her husband John Greco of Lewes; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 4, at St. Edmond Catholic Church, King Charles Avenue and Laurel Street, Rehoboth Beach, where
a viewing will be held starting at 10 a.m. Military Honors and Entombment in the Troise Family Mausoleum will take place in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Pilottown Road, Lewes.

In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations in his memory to the Tunnell Cancer Center, Lewes, DE 19958, or to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Philadelphia.
