Eileen Mary Connor, welcoming hostess

Eileen Mary Connor, 92, of Rehoboth Beach, formerly of Laurel and Seaford, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family, Sunday, Nov. 29, 2020.  She was born Oct. 2, 1928, in Glenolden, Pa., daughter of the late John P. and Martha Anne Dugan.

Eileen graduated in 1946 from the Academy of the Holy Child Jesus in Sharon Hill, Pa., and she was the last surviving member of her class. On July 26, 1952, she married the love of her life, Edwin A. Connor in Folcroft, Pa.

Eileen was a lifelong mother and homemaker who also briefly had a career in retail and real estate. She had a great love for life and was a welcoming hostess; her door was open to all. Eileen had  many interests and hobbies, including being an avid quilter and seamstress.  She also enjoyed cooking, reading and volunteering at Our Lady of Lourdes in Seaford and St. Edmond Catholic Church in Rehoboth Beach.  Above all, Eileen cherished time spent with those she held most dear.  She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Eileen was preceded in death by her siblings.  She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Edwin Connor of Rehoboth Beach; her daughters: Sandy Morris of Naples, Fla., Karen McQueen  of  Alpharetta, Ga., Joy Shannahan (Joe) of Moneta, Va., and Wendy McPartland (Dan) of New London, Pa.; her 10 grandchildren; and her 11 great-grandchildren.

Services will be private, with a livestream available at 11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 4, on the St. Edmond Catholic Church (Rehoboth Beach, DE) YouTube channel, at www.youtube.com/channel/UCKBkUj3Am_hZiVsHWAxlgWg/about.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.
