Elevator motor overheats in Beebe hospital

An elevator motor overheated inside Beebe Healthcare May 2, causing smoke to spread into a small section of the hospital.

Firefighters from Lewes and Rehoboth responded to the hospital about 2:45 p.m. Savannah Road in front of Beebe was closed while firefighters worked inside. 

Minor evacuations were necessary, but all patients remained in the building.
