Elks award scholarship to valedictorian of Worcester Preparatory School

Cape Henlopen Elks Lodge 2540 presented a $1,500 scholarship to Anchita Batra, a resident of Rehoboth Beach and valedictorian of her graduating class at Worcester Preparatory School in Berlin, Md.
Scholarship Chairman Michael Gilsenan and his co-chairs, Chris and Ed Coviello, determined that Batra’s leadership and academic total point score was the highest of all the Sussex county applicants, both male and female students. Batra has been accepted at the University of Pennsylvania where she plans to major in biology and premedical studies.
The Elks extend congratulations to Batra and wish her continued success as she goes off to college.
