Ethel ‘June’ M. Vogt, had wonderful spirit

Ethel “June” M. Vogt (nee Pote), 68, of Millsboro, formerly of Newtown, Pa., passed away surrounded by her loving family Friday, Aug. 17, 2018, at her home after a courageous battle with ALS.

She was born in Philadelphia, Pa., June 7, 1950, daughter of the late William X. and Ethel Mary (Dunn) Pote.  She worked with her husband as a bookkeeper for Essex Magnet Wire Company.  

 Independent until the very end, she did not let her disease take her wonderful spirit and her sense of humor that she exhibited throughout her life.  June also had a deep love for her family, along with loyalty and generosity that knew no bounds.  She will be dearly missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Edna Pote; a brother-in-law, William Vogt; and her two canine companions, Holly and Miranda.  She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Charles Vogt; two sisters, Estelle Kramer and her husband Richard, and Patricia Goodwin and her husband Wayne; a brother-in-law, Thomas Vogt and his wife Mary Jean; and a sister-in-law, Ann Vogt; and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Sept. 7, at Mary, Mother of Peace Catholic Church, 30839 Mt. Joy Road, Millsboro.
