Eugene Buckley, construction worker

Eugene Buckley of Ellendale passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 1, 2020, at Bayhealth Sussex Campus in Milford. Eugene was born in Milford, son of the late Raymond W. Sr. and Mary F. (Bunting) Buckley.

Eugene served in the U.S. Army and was a carpenter in the construction industry, working for many years with Messick and Gray Construction Inc. in Bridgeville.  He was a very private man, but he had a heart full of love for his nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly, and enjoyed spending time with them and being involved in their lives.

In addition to his parents, Eugene is preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Wayne Buckley Jr.

He is survived by three siblings, James Buckley, Dennis Buckley Sr. and wife Martha, and Tina Stevenson and husband Charles; 10 nieces and nephews, Stevie Stevenson and wife Andrea, Lynsey Waller and husband Dustin, Sherri Spitzer and husband Steve, Tonya Schaeffer and husband Scott, Kenneth Buckley, Dennis Buckley Jr. and wife Lisa, Michael Buckley, Kendall Buckley, Johnny Buckley and wife Amber, and James Buckley and wife Tina; as well as numerous great-nieces, great-nephews and extended family.

Due to gathering restrictions, all services will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Home of the Brave, 6632 Sharps Road, Milford, DE 19963.
