Evelyn Bradley Jump, owned campground

Evelyn Virginia Bradley Jump died Saturday, July 14, 2018.
Evelyn was born Jan. 7, 1921, in Baltimore, Md., to William L. Bradley and Ruth B. Snellings. Evelyn grew up in Fredericksburg, Va., as well as Baltimore, Md. She married Josiah Temple Jump, Nov. 6, 1943. They were married for nearly 60 years until Temple's death Oct. 27. 2003. Evelyn died at the Bayhealth Kent General Hospital in Dover July 14, 2018
Evelyn and Temple began their married life on a small farm outside of Camden-Wyoming, and later moved to Moore's Lake near Dover in the early 1950s. They had two sons: David T. Jump, who lives with his wife Linda in Dover, and Donald B. Jump, who lives with his wife Claudia in Philomath, Ore.
Evelyn worked as a secretary for various companies in the Dover area. In 1963, Evelyn and Temple purchased a 13-acre property on White's Creek near Ocean View. They transformed the property, which was an old pheasant farm, into Sandy Cove Camping Area. Sandy Cove was a family campground that provided rest and relaxation for countless campers. For nearly 30 years, Evelyn and Temple made many friends along with cherished memories while running the campground.
Evelyn is survived by her brother, Warren Bradley of Street, Md., and her two sons, David and his wife Linda, and Donald and his wife Claudia; five grandchildren, Michael, Paul, Kimberly, Marc and Megan; and five great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Noah, Matthew, Sarah and Akira.
There will be a viewing from 2 till 3 p.m., Monday, July 23, at Pippin Funeral Home 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., followed by a funeral service at 3 p.m. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
