Evelyn H. Burton, DelDOT retiree
Evelyn H. Burton, 86, of Rehoboth Beach, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2018, at her residence. She went home to be with the Lord and her beloved son.
Evelyn was born in Seaford, April 18, 1932, daughter of the late Leslie and Myrtle (Hudson) Hall. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Ronnie Savage; three sisters, Maude Givens, Hazel Thompson and Madelyn Wright; and a brother, Everett Hall.
She retired from DelDOT in 1994 after 29 years of service. Evelyn enjoyed traveling, playing cards and bingo, and was a member of Concord United Methodist Church in Concord.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Damaris Savage of Lake Mary, Fla.; three sisters, Dorothy Givens of Seaford, Jeanette Reed of Hurlock, Md., and Betty Cummings of Seaford; two grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A special thank you to her caregivers Candy Irving, Tjasha Matthews, Ashley, Liz and Jessica and Delaware Hospice for their dedicated, compassionate care and the kind support.
Services will be private.
