Extra efforts earn Lewes candidates the position

May 6, 2021

Saturday, May 8, will be, for office seekers in Lewes, the harvest of their labors.  As an HOA president in Lewes, it was very refreshing to have a few council and BPW candidates reach out physically to our community. We are lucky to have a field of qualified candidates, but I feel strongly that those who made the extra, personal effort should be acknowledged because they are the most motivated to fill the positions. Signs and mailers are great, but representative government is a people business.

Rob Morgan joined our quarterly Zoom HOA meeting and answered questions from our residents. Khalil Saliba spent significant time one-on-one at my home learning our community’s concerns.

An extremely well-qualified BPW candidate, Earl Webb, knocked on every door in our community and spent an hour at my kitchen table probing our concerns. The city council and BPW election results will impact our quality of life, our pocketbook, and the character of Lewes.  My opinion of who deserves the job most was solidified by the candidates who individually spent hours of their time asking about our communities’ concerns and aspirations, not simply talking about their own qualifications. Reward them with your vote.

president, Canary Creek HOA
