RSVP by Feb. 14 for Columbiettes ticket auction

The Delaware State Columbiettes will host their annual ticket auction from 2 to 5 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 23, at St. Jude the Apostle Parish Life Center, 152 Tulip Drive, Lewes. Tickets are $20 per person and include a hot roast turkey buffet luncheon, dessert, coffee, iced tea and water. Marriage seminar registration due Feb. 14

Old Paths Church of Christ in Georgetown will host a seminar on love, sex and marriage from 6 to 9 p.m., Friday, Feb. 21 and 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 22. With the help of international speaker and author Dr. Joe Beam, attendees will strengthen, grow and renew their marriages. This seminar is entertaining and informative, and a fun way to grow more passion for those who desire strong, healthy marriages. Cost is $30 and includes dinner and breakfast. Heartfelt Tea at Mount Zion AME Feb. 15

Mount Zion AME Church will host A Heartfelt Tea from 12 to 3 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 15, in the fellowship hall, 18211 Beach Highway, Ellendale. Featured speaker will be Dr. Adeline N. Nukuna, OB/GYN, Beebe Healthcare. A light buffet will be provided with musical entertainment, a skit  and door prizes. There will be a best-dressed contest. Valentine Concert set Feb. 15 at All Saints’ in Rehoboth

All Saints' Episcopal Church will present its Valentine Concert at 4 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 15, at 18 Olive Ave., Rehoboth Beach. Bob McDonald from the U.S. Army Baritones, accompanied by Jackson Borges on piano, will perform a concert of romantic favorites from Broadway, Hollywood, and the classical stage.

Black History Month youth contest set Feb. 23

Lewes Charge of Faith and Israel United Methodist Church, one church in two locations, invites everyone to a Black History Month Contest, Celebrating Our Past – Embracing Our Future, at 2 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 23. The contest will be held at Faith United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, 37439 Oyster House Road, Rehoboth Beach. All children 5-18 years of age are asked to research an influential figure and present them in the most creative way. Youth participating will be judged on presentation, research, and character performance. There will be prizes for top three contestants. Presentations cannot be made on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Harriet Tubman, Frederick Douglass, Barack Obama or Malcolm X. The event is free and open to the public. Everyone is welcome. Shrove Tuesday pancake dinner at LCOS Feb. 25

Lutheran Church of our Savior will host a Shrove Tuesday pancake dinner from 4 to 6:15 p.m., Feb. 25. Cost is $6 for adults and $3 ages 6 to 12. Children under 5 eat for free. The Bishop Burke Columbiettes will host a one-day women’s retreat from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, March 7, at St. Edmond's Church hall in Rehoboth Beach. Deacon Dave McDowell will be the speaker and topics will include Our Blessed Mother, Women of the Cross and Women in the Church. Registration will be followed by a light breakfast. Knights of Columbus to host St. Patrick’s dinner March 14

The Knights of Columbus Star of the Sea Council 7297 will host its annual St. Patrick’s dinner from 5 to 6:30 p.m., Saturday, March 14, in the St. Edmond Church Hall, Rehoboth Beach. Live entertainment will be provided by Joe Venerus. The menu includes corned beef, ham, cabbage, potatoes, carrots, homemade Irish soda bread, rolls and dessert. Irish coffee, beer, wine, bottled water and soft drinks will be available for purchase. Tickets are $20 for adults. Youth 10 years old or younger are admitted free. Takeout will be available. Catholic Cemeteries updates grave locating app

Catholic Cemeteries Inc. of the Diocese of Wilmington has updated its GPS grave-locating mobile app. Users can search for their loved ones and post to an interactive memorial page to capture the personal histories of those laid to rest in the diocese’s Delaware cemeteries: Gate of Heaven in Dagsboro, Cathedral in Wilmington, and All Saints in Mill Creek. “This initiative involved the cemetery entering thousands of burial records from paper into the database to make this history accessible,” said Mark Christian, executive director of Catholic Cemeteries. “We have seen individual families and the community as a whole benefit from this project and can’t wait to see it grow.” Catholic Cemeteries has been offering a free download titled Wilmington Catholic Cemeteries in the Apple App Store and on Google Play. Delaware Law Enforcement for Christ meets monthly in Dover

Delaware Law Enforcement for Christ is an organization seeking to meet the spiritual needs of all who are involved in law enforcement in Delaware. DLEFC is here to help anyone who works in any law enforcement field, as well as their families, to deal with the stress of the job through counseling, prayer and having a relationship with Christ. The Society of St. Vincent dePaul is accepting donations to help community members meet basic needs such as heating oil, food, rent, electricity, medications, and bus tickets and gasoline to enable parents to get to work. Compassionate Friends support group meets second Thursdays

The Compassionate Friends is a self-help group offering friendship and understanding to bereaved parents, siblings and grandparents.
