Fine art on display at St. Peter’s Art Show

July 12, 2018

St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in downtown Lewes continued its 52-year tradition of displaying some of the finest art in the region at its annual art show July 7.

More than 140 artists and artisans lined the block surrounding the church, with dozens more in the M&T Bank parking lot at the corner of Third and Market streets.

The free event enjoyed unseasonably mild weather after a week of scorching temperatures.  The event benefits organizations helping those in need in the Cape Henlopen School District.

This year’s featured artists included Nina Mickelsen, a Lewes-based silk screen artist who was born in Finland; Mary Costa, a woodworker who specializes in creating common household items; and jewelry artisan Hannah Ehlman, who creates unique pieces made from bronze, copper and sterling silver.
