An overnight fire Nov. 6 heavily damaged a Bethany Beach home.
The fire was reported at 11:30 p.m. in the 39000 block of Seaside Drive in the oceanside development of Bethany Village north of Bethany Beach off Route 1, officials said.
Firefighters arrived on the scene with flames engulfing the oceanfront home, which was heavily damaged, said Michael Chionchio, assistant state fire marshal. The home was occupied, and everyone was able to escape, Chionchio said. There were no reported injuries.
The fire remains under investigation. State fire investigators are currently on the scene searching for the fire’s origin and cause. The cost of the damage has not been assessed at this time.
