A mobile home in Big Oaks Campground was destroyed by fire Dec. 6.
The Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company responded at 1:34 a.m. to the fire on Birch Street in the campground off Wolfe Neck Road and found the home and two sheds on fire, said Capt. Ken Swarts of the Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Co.
The fire also caused exterior damage to three other mobile homes and one camper, Swarts said. All occupants were out of the structures and there were no injuries.
Rehoboth Beach fire crews were assisted by Lewes Fire Department and Indian River Volunteer Fire Co. The fire was brought under control in 20 minutes and units remained on scene for over two hours to hit hot spots and clean up, Swarts said. The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
