Fire destroyed an apartment building under construction in Long Neck Nov. 8.
The blaze, reported just after 9 p.m., occurred at the Carillon Woods apartment complex in the 34000 block of Harvard Avenue near the Route 24 and Route 5 intersection, behind Wawa and Rite Aid.
The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company arrived on scene and reported flames shooting from the four-story building.
Heavy fire damage was estimated to exceed $1.5 million. There were no reported injuries.
The building was under construction and designed to house 30 units.
Harry Miller, chief deputy state fire marshal, said investigators have not determined a cause or origin of the fire. “There is nothing new on the fire,” he said, adding it is a major fire investigation that will take time.
