Flags for Heroes honors veterans

On Oct. 25, the Long Neck Sunrise Rotary Club teamed up with American Legion Post 28 and Warrior Community Connect for the annual Flags for Heroes fundraiser held by various Rotary Clubs across the state. For $50, people can sponsor a flag in honor of a military member, first responder, or other hero, past or present.
These flags will be displayed from the week before Veterans Day till the week after at American Legion Oak Orchard Riverdale Post 28 along Route 24, creating a large flag display to illustrate the meaning of Veterans Day - a time of celebration and remembrance. All proceeds also go back into the community, helping veteran and educational programs.
