Food Bank of Delaware to offer holiday cooking demo Nov. 1

October 22, 2018

Just in time for Thanksgiving dinner, Food Bank of Delaware Executive Chef Tim Hunter will present his community cooking demonstration, Prepping for the Holidays, from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 1, at the organization’s Milford branch.

Hunter will offer attendees tips to ensure a successful holiday dinner. During this two-hour demo, students will learn how to season a turkey and prepare all of the fixings including homemade mashed potatoes, whipped sweet potatoes and a pumpkin cheesecake.

“Preparing Thanksgiving or holiday dinners can be stressful,” said Hunter. “But with proper preparation and a few tips, cooking for a big holiday meal can actually be a lot of fun! I look forward to sharing my knowledge and tips with our community to help make this year’s Thanksgiving dinner their best yet. With this class, long gone will be the days of not allowing enough time to thaw the turkey!”

The cost is $35 per person, with a 20-student class limit. Light refreshments will be available during class. Food Bank of Delaware is at 1040 Mattlind Way, Milford.
