Food for Thought candidate forum set Oct. 10 in Milford

Food Bank of Delaware to host free event
October 3, 2018

The Food Bank of Delaware presents Food for Thought - a conversation with those running for election on the state level - about food insecurity and nutrition in Delaware.

The forum is free and open to the public. It will be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 10, at the Food Bank’s Milford branch at 1040 Mattlind Way. The event will provide an opportunity for local residents to learn more about what candidates would do to solve the issues of hunger and food-insecurity throughout Delaware.

“We organized this event as an opportunity for residents to meet with candidates in a convenient forum-style atmosphere,” said Food Bank of Delaware Community Relations Manager Chad Robinson. “We are proud to host this important forum for our candidates. Hunger and food insecurity are often forgotten issues in the political campaigns. Our goal with this forum is to educate candidates, while hearing their thoughts and ideas for making change in this area.”

Guests will have the opportunity to both ask questions in a panel-style discussion and hold one-on-one conversations with the candidates.

Candidates who have indicated they will participate include:

• Robin Hayes,  Republican,  29th Representative District

• Colin Bonini, Republican, 16th Senate District

• Dave Wilson, Republican, 18th Senate District

• Don Allan, Democrat, 36th Representative District

• Chuck Groce, Democrat, 30th Representative District

• Cheryl Precourt, Republican, 32nd Representative District

Complimentary continental breakfast will be provided.

To reserve a seat, RSVP to Robinson at crobinson@fbd.org or 302-393-2010.
