Former Cape teachers donate book proceeds to CHEF

May 13, 2018

Former Cape teachers Mark and Sheldon Gruber-Lebowitz returned to the Cape Region April 14 to host a children’s book signing event benefitting the Cape Henlopen Educational Foundation.

Several months ago, the former Rehoboth residents published a children’s book about their dog, “One Lucky Pom: The Adventures of Ronan and His Dads.” Social studies specialist Mark wrote the book and art teacher Sheldon illustrated. Now living in the Baltimore area, the couple donated 75 percent of the day’s sales at Epworth United Methodist Church to CHEF.

“While we were only able to work in the Cape Henlopen School District for a short period, having taught for many years in the Baltimore area, we fell in love with Cape and continue to hold it especially close to our hearts; its small size and genuine care for its students and families impressed us deeply. We are proud and honored that we had the opportunity to be part of such a wonderful school system,” Mark said.

The book is available to purchase online at www.oneluckypom.com.
