Former DuPont executive speaker at Republican annual dinner June 9

The 38th District Republican Club has scheduled its annual Red, White & Blue dinner for Sunday, June 9, with 6:30 p.m. cocktails, 7 p.m. dinner, at the Cripple Creek Golf & Country Club, 29494 Cripple Creek Drive, Dagsboro. 

The club has engaged David Stevenson, former DuPont executive and now director, Center for Energy Competitiveness at Caesar Rodney Institute, as their guest speaker.  Topic of discussion will be Draining Delaware’s Economic Battery that will focus on Delaware’s ranking in the country regarding GDP growth.

Stevenson has regularly appeared in newspapers, TV and frequently heard on radio discussing electric grid reliability, public policy drivers of energy cost, the EPA Clean Power Plan and has built credibility which has resulted in him being a frequent background resource to journalists. He holds a degree in agricultural economics from Rutgers University.  In addition to starting six successful businesses that are run today by family members, he founded Save the Persecuted, a nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing the persecution of religious minorities.

38th District members Rep. Ron Gray and Sen. Gerald Hocker will be especially recognized at this yearly event in appreciation by the members and guests for their hard work in the Legislature on behalf of their constituents.
