Free meals on menu for all Cape students

USDA waiver allows free breakfast, lunch through Dec. 31
September 15, 2020

Free meals are on the menu for all Cape district students.

The United States Department of Agriculture issued a nationwide waiver allowing schools to serve free breakfast and lunch to students through Dec. 31 or until available funding runs out, Cape Assistant Superintendent Jenny Nauman confirmed.

“We are really excited to offer this to our students,” Nauman said. “We are glad to be able to extend it to remote learners as well.”

Beginning the first day of school Wednesday, Sept. 16, in-person students will be able to order meals via the Clever dashboard application each morning. Remote students can also order a meal to pick up via Clever; schools will advise parents on specific pickup times for remote learners.

All meals will be in a grab-and-go format. Parents are still asked to apply for meal benefits at www.paypams.com/onlineapp or by requesting a paper application from their child’s school.
