Freeman pavilion arts supply drive runs thru Sept. 17

September 1, 2022

As part of its Arts Access Initiative, Freeman Arts Pavilion is holding an art supply drive to benefit local nonprofits and community groups.

Beginning at 5 p.m. on performance days, community members can drop off supplies in the designated spot near the box office at 31806 Lake View Drive, Selbyville. The venue will be open Friday, Sept. 2; Friday and Saturday, Sept. 9 and 10; and Thursday to Sunday, Sept. 15 to 17.

Items being collected are paper, notebooks, glue, kid-safe scissors, watercolor or acrylic paints, finger paints, paintbrushes, pens, pencils, colored pencils, crayons, markers, clay, play dough, rulers, popsicle sticks, yarn, string and ribbon.

Residents or visitors who would like to participate but are unable to get to the venue to drop off supplies, may purchase items from the Freeman Arts Pavilion Amazon wish list.

“Arts access improves children’s academic performance, social and emotional development, and civic engagement,” said Rachel Stohr, Joshua M. Freeman Foundation community engagement coordinator. “Our Arts Access Initiative, which includes the Community Access and Arts Education programs, helps children across Delmarva access arts experiences, which fulfills their need for creative expression and can strengthen our community.”
