Friends of Lewes library to host Old and New Holiday Sale Dec. 3-4

November 18, 2021

The Friends of the Lewes Public Library will host an Old and New Holiday Sale from 2 to 4 p.m., Friday, Dec. 3, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 4, at the library.

The sale will feature rare and collectible books and movies, new children’s books, holiday cards and a variety of unique gift items. Proceeds will benefit the Friends of the Lewes Public Library, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the library and its services.

“In addition to the rare and collectible books being offered for the Old and New Holiday Sale this year, we are featuring new ball caps designed by the Friends volunteers and library staff with a Lewes theme, exclusive to the library shop. These colorful and high-quality hats make wonderful gifts,” said Candace Vessella, Friends president.

Designed with gift-giving in mind, the rare and collectible offering includes a wide array of classic literature, biographies, histories, children’s books and even some signed and first editions, all priced 50 percent below internet prices. Also available for purchase are new children’s books priced at 25 percent off retail. Gift items will include holiday ornaments and keychains with the City of Lewes seal, bejeweled bookmarks, tote bags and holiday greeting cards. As a special incentive, all who purchase $20 or more will receive a new, free children’s book from a special assortment.

BeachOriginals Dining Cards are also available for $20. The cards enable users to buy one entrée and get up to $15 off a second entrée of equal or lesser value at several of the area's most exceptional restaurants. Cards are good until Saturday, April 30, and will be available at the library through Monday, Dec. 6.

Accomplished local pianist Mark Gratton will play seasonal favorites Dec. 4 to get shoppers in the holiday spirit.
