Gail Louise ‘Gill’ Turek, human resources pro

Gail Louise (Gill) Turek passed away suddenly Thursday, May 30, 2019.  She was born Aug. 8, 1951, in Baltimore, Md., the only child of Robert E. and Florence (Hopkins) Gill.

A longtime resident of Carroll County, Md., Gail was a proud graduate of Western Maryland College and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. She worked in various positions as a human resources professional for a number of major corporations, including PHH Group, USF&G, and Howard Hughes Medical Institute, before retiring from the Community College of Baltimore County in 2015.

Gail enjoyed painting, photography and working in her garden. She relished being a part of the Art League of Ocean City, where she polished her watercolor skills and gained an extended family of close friends.

Gail was the beloved wife for 42 years to Greg, and a devoted mother to Becky. She was a loving aunt and great-aunt to Sacha Opperman, Libby, Isabel, Miles, and Asher Borowski, Katie Moore, Laura Francis, and Gina and Michael Passarello. She is also survived by a large, extended family and many dear friends.

Family and friends will honor Gail's life at a graveside service at Bethel Methodist Cemetery, Savannah Road, Lewes, Friday, June 7, at 11 a.m.  Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in Gail's memory to the Art League of Ocean City, 502 94th St., Ocean City, MD 21842.
