George S. Kuhlman, retired electrician

George S. Kuhlman, 81, of Seaford passed away peacefully in his sleep Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at his home.  He was born Sept. 29, 1939, in Seaford, son of the late Henry and Helen Kuhlman.

Mr. Kuhlman was an electrician by trade, contributing many dedicated years to the DuPont Company.  He was a proud member of the Army National Guard, serving for seven years. His National Guard unit was called in to help evacuate those trapped during the infamous 1962 nor'easter.  Mr. Kuhlman loved the outdoors, enjoying everything nature had to offer, particularly hunting, fishing and cruising the seas.  He knew no stranger, striking up conversations with anyone with whom he crossed paths. 

Mr. Kuhlman participated in the 1958 Blue Gold All-Star game, an accomplishment he loved to recall.  He liked playing the slots and watching westerns and held a special place in his heart for his loyal Brittany dogs.  Above all, he cherished time spent with those he held most dear, especially supporting his grandchildren at their sporting events and watching them grow.  Mr. Kuhlman was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend.  He was loved by many, and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Kuhlman was preceded in death by his brothers:  Charles Kuhlman and Edward Kuhlman; and his sisters: Jean Lovell and Ruth Kuhlman. He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Marie (Rogers) Kuhlman of Seaford; his son Brett Kuhlman and his wife Amy of Milton; his grandchildren:  Katie Kuhlman and Cody Kuhlman, both of Milton; and his many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Kuhlman will be privately laid to rest in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Seaford.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson-Yates Funeral Home, a Parsell Family Funeral Home, Seaford.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Seashore Striders Youth Cross Country team at tim@seashorestriders.com. Mr. Kuhlman received great joy in watching his grandchildren compete in cross country races for many years. He would have wanted to help support future runners.
