Georgetown car show rescheduled for Nov. 10

Event to benefit Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition
November 2, 2019

Having been postponed again due to inclement weather, the Georgetown Breast Cancer Awareness Car, Truck, Motorcycle and Tractor Show will be held from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 10, at the Marvel Museum, 510 S. Bedford St., Georgetown. Proceeds will benefit the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition. Registration takes place the day of the event; the cost is $12 per car.

This year’s event will feature an autograph session with NASCAR legend Donnie Allison, and drivers Shawn Ward, Kerry King, Taylor King, Bobby Reid and Kurt Lawson; music by the band Pistol Whipped; and a live auction handled by Dave Wilson. A live car auction will be run by Express Auctioneers. The vehicles event will be judged, with a total of 66 trophies in various categories. A pin-up girl contest, vendors, displays by the Delaware State Police Mounted Division, and state police helicopter all add to the fun of the day.

In the show’s first six years, proceeds of more than $41,000 has been donated to the breast cancer coalition. Funds were used to expand its local programs which increase breast cancer awareness, promote the importance of early detection, provide access to mammograms, and provide support and financial resources to women and men who have been diagnosed with or are facing a recurrence of breast cancer.
