A Georgetown man faces charges after police said he stole HVAC units and sold them to a scrap yard.
Police responded at 8:55 a.m., Sept. 15, to a newly built home in the 19000 block of West Piney Grove Road, where they learned someone had removed the HVAC unit from the home. Later that day, police said the same thing happened at the Spirit of Excellence Church at 31195 DuPont Blvd. in Dagsboro.
Through their investigation, police said they connected William Pusey, 46, to the thefts. Police said Pusey stole the HVAC units and then took them to a local scrap yard and sold them.
Pusey was arrested Sept. 18 and taken to Troop 4, where he was charged with two counts of theft over $1,500, selling property over $1,500 with two or more prior convictions, selling stolen property under $1,500, criminal mischief, two counts falsifying business records and two counts third-degree criminal trespass.
He was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace, and committed to the Department of Correction in default of $5,002 secured bond.
