A Georgetown man, 52, faces his seventh driving under the influence charge after a single car crash Jan. 12.
Felix Robledo was driving about 10:30 p.m. on Beach Highway east of Blacksmith Shop Road in Greenwood when he drove his 2003 Toyota Camry into a ditch, said Master Cpl. Michael Austin of the Delaware State Police.
While speaking with Robledo, Austin said, police detected a strong odor of alcoholic beverage and initiated a DUI investigation. Police determined Robledo was impaired at the time of the crash, and that he had six prior convictions for DUI.
Robledo was transported to Troop 5 where he was charged with a seventh DUI – a felony, no proof insurance and failure to drive at a speed appropriate for conditions. He was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 3 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $22,000 secured bail.
