Gerald Lee Dukes Jr., true dog lover

Gerald Lee Dukes Jr., 24, of Laurel and Federalsburg, Md., passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2018, while visiting friends in Arizona. He was the son of Gerald Lee Sr. and Connie L. Smith Dukes, born April 26, 1994, in Easton, Md. 

He worked as a general labor technician, and had his own canine program of training terriers.  He loved fishing, bowling, motorcycles and cars.  He loved his family, especially his momma, and always loved being in the middle of everything.  He was a jack of all trades, and could fix just about anything.  He was a true dog lover and trainer.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by four children: Derek, Aubree, Brylee and Caedynn Dukes.  Also surviving are his two sisters: Kaitlin Dukes Mears (Shane) of Laurel, and Chelsea Dukes Berger, also of Laurel; and two brothers: Greg Dukes and Cory Aviles, both of Federalsburg.  Other survivors include his grandfather: Marvin Tunnell of Federalsburg; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and extended family members and friends.  Two special friends are Kurri Hartzell and Kellsie Moore.

A funeral and celebration of his life will be held Saturday, Dec. 8, at 1 p.m., at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Main St. Millsboro.  Friends may call one hour prior to the service, beginning at noon, for viewing and visitation with the family. Interment will follow at Dagsboro Redmen’s Cemetery, in Dagsboro.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to help offset funeral and final expenses C/O: Marvin Tunnell, P.O.
