Golf tournament raises $240,000 for Boys & Girls Club

May 27, 2022

More than 50 Cape Region people and businesses raised $240,000 for local Boys & Girls Clubs as part of the 2021 Irish Eyes Open, presented by Jack Lingo Asset Management.

The open, which has been sponsored by Irish Eyes for 12 years and held at Peninsula Golf and Country Club in Millsboro, attracted hundreds of golfers and raised $120,000 through sponsorships and a silent auction held the night before. That amount was matched by the corporate office of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware.

Jim Logullo, president of Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware, said the open has raised more than $1 million for the clubs.

“The real beneficiaries are the children participating in club programs at our Rehoboth Beach Boys & Girls Club. Proceeds from the open are used to provide scholarships for children participating in the Rehoboth club’s summer camp program and the school-aged before- and after-school programs as well as for educational enhancement activities offered on a daily basis,” he said.
