Gordon Russell ‘Andy’ Anderson, electrician, homebuilder

Gordon Russell “Andy” Anderson, 89, passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Christiana Hospital. He was born Dec. 13, 1931, in Pittsburgh, Pa., and raised and educated in Glenolden, Andy was a 1949 graduate of Glen-Nor High School. Andy also had homes in Springfield and Kennett Square, Pa.

He has lived in Long Neck since 1996. Andy was an electrician with the IBEW LU 654 for 42 years before he retired in 1991. He was also a custom home builder, building many homes throughout Delaware and Chester Counties. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, Pocono vacations, and wintering at his home in Largo, Fla. Andy proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Andy will truly be missed by all, but never forgotten.  

He was predeceased by his parents, Gordon S. and Eva (Gormley) Anderson; his daughter Theresa Greathouse; and his sister Beverly Fioravanti.    

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marion Klebes Anderson; his children: Gordon Stephen Anderson (Carol), Michael Anderson (MaryAnn), David Anderson (Mary Ellen), Stephen Kopp (Kathy), and Ellen Lucas (Gerry). He is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.  

A graveside service will be held at Edgewood Memorial Park, Glen Mills, Pa., and will be announced following the conclusion of the pandemic. Condolences: www.nolanfidale.com.
