Governor declares April as Autism Awareness Month in Delaware

April 24, 2019

Gov. John Carney declared April as Autism Awareness Month in Delaware.

The April 11 signing was the culmination of Autism Delaware’s annual Smart Cookie Day, when autism advocates from across the state gather at Legislative Hall in Dover to meet with elected officials, share their stories and appeal for legislation that would help meet the many needs of individuals and families affected by autism.

As the advocates thanked the legislators for their support in the past year, the day’s activities also included hand-delivered, freshly baked cookies.
